One might say that almost all humans have the ability to help themselves. While that may be true, it is important to acknowledge that children with certain disabilities without parental or other means of support face significant challenges in self-sufficiency and care.
Humanity Homes is an organization that plans to build facilities worldwide for children with disabilities who are without parents or whose parents verifiably cannot afford to take care of them. Each Humanity Homes facility will be built on about 100 acres or about 40 hectares of land. The land will be used for purposes of administration, accommodations, kitchen, a clinic, physical therapy hall, state of the art education halls, an extensive mind stimulating playground, farming and a visiting area. Additional rooms will be built to accommodate experienced volunteers who wish to participate in any of the several activities. All accounts and audits will be done from headquarters so there is absolute checks and balances on all monies spent. Criteria for bringing children in to the facilities of Humanity Homes will be made by the local Director and approved by the Board of Directors who shall all be volunteers.
ACCOMMODATION :
The facility will have a building that accommodates up to 300 children. Each room will accommodate up to 10 children large enough to maneuver wheel chairs. There will be a total of 38 rooms of which 30 rooms will be used by children with disabilities and 8 rooms will accommodate visiting volunteers.
ADMINISTRATION :
The administrative staff in each facility will be kept at a minimum (less than 5) except for nurses, caregivers, cooks and farm workers. For every 50 children, there will be 1 nurse and 5 caregivers, each working 8-hour shifts continuously. For a total of 300 children, that equates to 36 nurses and caregivers per shift, amounting to 108 across three shifts. There will be a visiting doctor who shall be in attendance at all times.
KITCHEN :
The kitchen will be equipped to feed up to 300 children, 3 meals a day. That equates to 900 meals per day.
CLINIC :
The clinic will be used for visiting doctors including volunteer doctors and for dispensing medicine.
PHYSICAL THERAPY :
This area will focus on therapy that will help functionality and mobility. There will be professional physical therapists and the center will be open for 8 hours everyday.
EDUCATION :
There will be a school to educate the children according to their abilities.
PLAYGROUND :
The playground will be quite extensive equipped to stimulate the mind and create excitement in the daily lives of the children with disabilities.
FARMING :
About 70 percent of the land will be used for growing crops to feed up to 300 children with disabilities as part of sustaining the operation. The land will be used to grow crops organically, based on nutritional value to feed all the children with disabilities at Humanity Homes. The goal is to produce enough crops to provide 900 meals each day.
VISITATION HALL :
This area will be large enough for parents and relatives to visit at a special hour everyday. Transportation will be provided as only children from very destitute families will be accepted into the facility.
NOTE :
We operate independently of political and religious organizations, focusing only on humanitarian care.
We transform lives by supporting our vision of creating sustainable, caring communities for disabled children worldwide.
